The following images show a newspaper report about our students' rendezvous with Smt. Sugatha Kumari, noted poetess and environmental activist. The students had a heart-felt interaction with the poetess. She enlightened the kids with her typical affection, candor and questions about environmental issues.
After a discussion about environmental problems in villages, particularly the conversion of paddy fields into real-estate plots by filling soil on the fields, she asked the students which is the most frightening animal in the world. Some of the students gave the usual answers like lion, crocodile, etc. One of the students, inspired by the earlier discussion, stood up and said. "Humans".
The poetess also expressed her profound thanks after receiving the gifts from the students, which comprised an array of home-grown fruits. She termed the gifts as priceless.
